Why Licensed & Insured Movers Matter

In Nebraska, movers must be licensed through the Nebraska Public Service Commission (psc.nebraska.gov) and carry liability and cargo insurance. This protects you if something is damaged or lost during your move.
For long-distance moves, companies must also be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). You can look up any mover by their DOT number to confirm they’re properly authorized.
Red flags to watch for include no written contract, or contracts so long and confusing that you can’t understand them, as well as vague pricing or refusal to show documentation. Licensed and insured movers are accountable to state and federal law, giving you more protection and peace of mind.
At MHC Moving, we’re licensed with the PSC, registered with the FMCSA, fully insured, and transparent with our pricing so you can move with confidence.
